I am 1 of the fellow 138 people taking part in the latest Gold speed run which is organised by Jonathan Kenins owner of Massive Gold Blueprint. Its day 12 so far and its getting better with each passing day. My total gold aquired between horde and alliance has passed 80k (this is taken from the Total Gold aquired figure from the wealth statistics)

I have made roughly 24k just from selling vendor pets and vendor recipes alone. Follow my forum post for regular updates which includes great deals i made, tips for others, screenshots and even my exported beancounter data.,2190.0.html

Still Patch 4.3 to unfold and also another 18days to go.

Do you have a DK? Make gold while having fun

Are you often in between raids and waiting for someone to buy your auctions? Well I often find myself trying to solo stuff on my Death Knight for achievements/mounts/pets and still make a few quid along the way.

With players such as Raegwyn showing us exactly what we get out of playing our class you might be surprised what we can solo.

Now other classes may be able to solo some of these raids/dungeons but how many can actually say they solo’d the LK🙂

(Stone core) Slabhide (chance to get Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake)
(Vortex Pinnacle) Altairus(Chance to get Reins of the Drake of the North Wind)

Wrath of the Lich King

(Icecrown) Lich King
(Onyxia’s Lair) Onyxia (Chance to get the Onyxian Drake)
(Uldaur) Yogg Saron (Chance to drop Mimiron’s Head)
(Vault of Archavon) Archavon the stone Watcher (Chance to get Reins of the Grand Black War Mammoth)
(Utgarde Pinnacle) Skadi the Ruthless (Chance to get Reins of the Blue Proto-Drake)

The Burning Crusade

(Black Temple) Illidan the betrayer (chance to get the lengendary Warglaives)
(Karazhan) Attumen the Huntsman (Chance to get Fiery Warhorse’s Reins)
(The Eye) Kael’thas Sunstrider (Chance to get Ashes of Al’ar)

Other fun places to solo

Stratholme (Chance to get Deathcharger’s Reins)
Molten Core (Chance to get Bindings of the Windseeker, Eye of Sulfuras)
Sethekk Halls(HC) (Chance to get Reins of the Raven Lord)
Magister’s Terrace (Chance to get Swift White Hawkstrider and Phoenix Hatchling)

I have listed favourites of mine to solo and there is plenty more out there. You can make some serious amounts of gold just running these instances and having fun as well.

Whats been selling hot – June edition

Well Glyphs recently have seen alot of new faces entering the market and changing the price for most glyphs to an average 30g. At present i am just selling left over stock till 4.2 hits when hopefully some new players might come back.

So… herbs are selling at an all time low which i am taking advantage of. 1 scenario i have put below.

I am regually buying stacks of whiptail and Twilight Jasmine around 21g per stack. I picked up 52 stacks earlier this morning costing me 1092g

Obviously your luck might be different but i ended up with the below after milling all the herbs.

58 Inferno Ink

307 Blackfallow Ink

Inferno Ink is selling 40g each at present which i have been happily selling in stacks of 10 for 400g. Blackfallow Ink is selling for 5g each which i used to keep to sell making glyphs but am happy selling at 100g a stack at present.

If we do the maths and sell everything which i have done previously my initial 1.1k is now a 3.5k.

Dont forget to hold back some Inferno Ink for 4.2 as demand will increase with pvp crafted items.

How Glyphs are acquired in future patches

Blizzard recently answered the “Ask the Devs #7 – Professions” questions and i noticed a slight change in the future in how glyphs will be acquired.

Question: “Will you provide a way to speed up the acquiring of glyphs usually acquired through research and glyph books? Glyph books (Book of Glyph Mastery) are hard to come by now that people spend so little time in WotLK content.”

Answer: “Yes. We will be changing the discovery spells so they can teach all possible glyphs, and the books will simply provide a no-cooldown method to do the same thing. “

So what does this mean., it means in the future maybe soon or maybe later Blizzard intend to make all glyphs acquireable even via the daily research.

How does this affect us gold makers, at present i think there are 57 or 58 glyph recipes which can only be obtained by learning a book of glyph mastery. The only way to obtain these books is by doing Wotlk content or by visiting your AH (These sell around 400g to 600g) At present having all the glyphs allows you to dominate and control prices on the glyph market better as not every inscriptionist will have all these recipes but it looks like this will soon change.

We can expect prices for book of glyph mastery to go up due to demand and prices for those recipes which were only obtainable by leaning the book to potentially fall.

Will keep a close eye of this one🙂

Thorium Ore

I think with Cataclysm many people have forgotten about the older ores and what each ore can contain. Thorium Ore prices for me have steadily been floating around the 30g to 40g a stack. If you prospect Thorium ore according to enchantrix you have the below chances to get these gems.

30% Huge Emerald
30% Azerothian Diamond
30% Large Opal
30% Blue Sapphire
10% Star Ruby

Gem prices range from 5g to 15g and you can get on average 6 per stack of ore.  I also found as a Jewelctafter I could make a number of rings and disenchant them.

Emerald Lion Ring

Glowing Thorium Ring

These have a chance to disenchant into Illusion Dust, Greater Eternal Essences, Large Brilliant Shards (Greater Eternal Essences usually fetch between 40-60g each)

Cooking – Big fat juicy gold burger

Did you know when you level your cooking skill profession the quickest way to get from 250 to 285 is via only 1 good recipe.

The recipe is easy to obtain however try finding the materials needed to cook yourself 35 points on your AH, you will be surprised if you do find any.

Juicy Bear Burger – You will need roughly 40 Bear Flanks to get the required skill ups to get to 285. I usually sell in batches of 5 for 8-9g each (180 gold per stack)

These can be farmed in Felwood, winterspring. Nice little earner if you have a few spare minutes or happen to be in the area. (Especially for those doing the Winterspring dailies for the winterspring mount)

Epic Gems in 4.2

Everyone is wondering whether Epic Gems will be available in the next patch. Certainly looking at the time frames from the last expansions Epic Gems were introduced around this time. We already know that the PTR is already giving some professions more recipes so why not new gem recipes in 4.2.

I myself am starting to stockpile pyrite ore which is still orange if you mine it. Also completing my daily JC quests to stockpile those tokens which also is similar to the Wrath expansion and using tokens for recipes.

Keeping a close eye on this one🙂
